Butterfly Prom

January 28th, 2026

For anyone wondering I don’t give a crap. I post these damn blogs whenever the hell I want and I’m not even going to remove the little “Blogs Weekdays pretty much whenever, but normally around 2pm, and then comic/art on Sundays,” because I HATE THE RULES.

Imagine an image of me like destroying a big piece of paper that says rules

Anyways, I think I’m going to just start writing stories on my blog for the foreseeable future because frankly I’ve pretty much covered everything that’s out there on my walks. Maybe I’ll start more walking blogs though if I go to Asia or something, or really any area with new stuff. Don’t worry though blog fans, my walks will continue on, just silently. Or maybe I’ll write about them sometimes as I SAID BEFORE I HATE THE RULES.

Anyways, this is my next story.

“Aww crap” said the hairy caterpillar, he was standing, or I guess like lifting the front half of his body or whatever the hell caterpillars do, he was like in an L shape or something, looking in the mirror, his face covered in acne.

His father, a beautiful monarch butterfly, fluttered into the room, “what’s wrong Jason?” he asked. Jason shook his caterpillar face, “Dad, I’m just so nervous,” he stammered out, “everyone at school already has their wings, and I haven’t even gone into my chrysalis yet.” His Dad smiled, “Buddy, you have nothing to worry about, I didn’t get my wings until I was older than you, and look at me now!” He showed off his gorgeous orange and black wings to his son, who smiled back, “yeah, Dad, you’re right.”

“That’s the spirit, kiddo,” Jason’s butterfly Dad smiled, “besides, the girls like a good caterpillar.” Jason blushed, “No, that can’t be.” His Dad grinned, “I dunno, bud, you are long and hairy.” They both laughed, “Well, son, finish getting ready, it is your bug day!” Jason started washing his face, “I will Dad.”

“Peter!” someone shouted from across their pavilion, “can you come here?” This was Meredith, Jason’s mother, also a Monarch Butterfly. “Sure thing honey” said Peter. “Don’t call me honey, I’m not a bee” Meredith smiled, kissing her husband on his long proboscis mouth.

She asked him, “How’s our little caterpillar? Ready for his prom?” Peter nodded, “he’s a little nervous, but I think he’s ready.” “How could you not be,” she took a deep breath, “he’s growing up so fast, not too much longer until he gets his wings.” Peter sighed back, “Any day now,” then checked his butterfly watch, “oh my god! Jason! It’s time to go!” “Coming!” Jason shouted back.

In a jiffy, Jason hopped onto his fathers back and the two of them took flight into the night and headed over to Jason’s local butterfly school pavilion. Some of the students had already gotten their wings, while others still were stuck in the caterpillar stage. Jason was at that weird age where some of his friends had already gotten theirs and others hadn’t, so when he met up with his group, they looked a little funny, but they were his boys and they loved each other.

The prom was filled with color, flowers everywhere, and anyone who had become a butterfly was allowed to start pollinating. All the different types of butterflies filled the air with dance, and the caterpillars stood dancing on the floor.

Peter walked into the room, and smiled, all his worries from earlier he realized were not worth thinking about, and even better, the girl he had a crush on: Olivia, had just gotten her wings and she looked wonderful. He squiggled over to her.

“Hey” he said to her, she grinned back, “Hey Jason.” “Your wings came in really nicely” he said, she was a Malachite butterfly, and had wings with green and black. Her smile grew, “Thank you,” as her butterfly face turned a bright red. “Would you like to dance?” Jason asked her. She couldn’t even reply, she nodded, and the two of them slowly approached each other, Jason extending his hand out to her, and right when she grabbed it-

“Owgghhhhhhh,” Jason exhaled, tensing his body up all over. Luckily for him, he was wearing clothes so the mess from the creation of his chrysalis didn’t end up all over Oliva. “Oh my god!” Olivia shouted, “Jason is going through metamorphosis!"

The entire prom all huddled around Jason as his body slowly covered itself in its chrysalis, and they all watched as his body muddled around inside, changing Jason into something brand new. After a few moments, the shell began to crack, and slowly emerged Jason in his new form. As a fairy moth.

Olivia immediately barfed all over him. “Oh my god! How disgusting” she screamed. The entire prom was in turmoil, as everyone screamed and cried, one of his teachers said “I can’t believe I was teaching a moth this entire time” while vomiting.

Jason flew out of the prom as fast as he possibly could, crying from embarrassment and self disgust. He flew back to his pavilion, and burst through the doors crying. His parents sat in the living room.

“WHO ARE YOU? GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!” Peter screamed at Jason, until he realized who it was. Tears formed in Peter’s eyes “Oh my god. Jason?” He turned to his wife, “Meredith? How could you!” “I’m sorry!” she began screaming, “it was a one time thing!” “With a moth?” Peter screamed back, “Do you know what kinds of things moths carry? Disease, and look at how disgusting they are!”

Peter fell to the floor balling, “God damn it, and you were never my son.”

Jason stared at what wasn’t his father, and then to his cheating mother. Peter slowly walked out, “I can’t believe you. I just can’t believe this.” Jason looked at his mother, hoping for some form of guidance. She just looked at him and said “I’m sorry.”

Jason walked back to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror, and while he no longer had acne, and no longer stood in that stupid L shape, he now looked at himself as a monster.
